Present Continuous Tense
The English Present Continuous Tense or Present Progressive Tense indicates continuing action, something going on now. This English Tense always has “tobe” + Verb + ING . For example: “You are reading my Tenses English dotcom Blog”. Whenever You need to use Continuous Tense in english, remember ING-form of the verbs, and remember TOBE respectively too. Because we are talking about the PRESENT, we use present form of tobe: is, am, are. If you want to express the action that happens past time then English Past Continuous Tense with was, were as tobe.
This is the formula of English Present Continuous Tense
Positive Form: S + am/is/are + Verb + ing Negative Form: S + am/is/are + NOT+ Verb + ing Interrogative: Am/is/are + S + Verb + ing
Some examples of English Present Continuous Tense:
-You are reading my EnglishTenses.com blog
-I am writing now
-She is waiting for you
The Negative Form of Present Continuous Tense example:
-You are not reading my EnglishTenses.com blog
-I am not writing now
-She is not waiting for you
To make a question or interrogative form of this english tense, just put tobe in front of the sentence, like this:
-Are You reading my EnglishTenses.com blog?
-Are You writing now?
-Is She waiting for you
