The English Present Continuous Tense or Present Progressive Tense indicates continuing action, something going on now. This English Tense always has “tobe” + Verb + ING . For example: “You are reading my Tenses English dotcom Blog”. Whenever You need to use Continuous Tense in english, remember ING-form of the verbs, and remember TOBE respectively too. Because we are talking about the PRESENT, we use present form of tobe: is, am, are. If you want to express the action that happens past time then English Past Continuous Tense with was, were as tobe.

This is the formula of English Present Continuous Tense

Positive Form: S + am/is/are + Verb + ing
Negative Form: S + am/is/are + NOT+ Verb + ing
Interrogative: Am/is/are + S + Verb + ing

Some examples of English Present Continuous Tense:
-You are reading my EnglishTenses.com blog
-I am writing now
-She is waiting for you

The Negative Form of Present Continuous Tense example:
-You are not reading my EnglishTenses.com blog
-I am not writing now
-She is not waiting for you

To make a question or interrogative form of this english tense, just put tobe in front of the sentence, like this:
-Are You reading my EnglishTenses.com blog?
-Are You writing now?
-Is She waiting for you

Present Continuous Tense is very simple too, isn’t it?

TensesEnglish.com is about 16 English Tenses in simple format as well as their example. I hope You enjoy some simple english lesson I provide here. It is still very good idea to buy books which usually uncover English Tense in much more detail as well as complete List of English Verbs.

To master English Tenses, You need to bring the lesson to practice a lots. Try to write many examples with substitution in Subject as well as Verbs. I myself usually write down the Tenses with my hand again and again at least 10 times. I write the description how respective tense is used, it formula, as well as the examples. That process (writing manually) makes me understand each tenses better. How do You usually learn tenses? What do you do to make yourself understand English Tenses fast?

In speaking, You may try to say those tenses example you have written very often, start by pronounce them slowly and then faster until You can pronouce them very very fast. Good luck..
